Fun on the ice with the whole family
Ice skating and curling
Spend a fun winter with your loved ones and have a great time on the ice in the Mürz Valley – time spent with your family is good for your mind and soul. Children practise their first steps on their blades and older kids sprint ahead recklessly. Those who are young at heart glide across the ice while chatting and find themselves slightly nostalgic thanks to the obligatory background music. Visit one of the many skating rinks or the artificial ice rink and you’ll feel like a child again yourself. Ice skating is one of the most popular leisure activities for families. These rinks are prepared with care, as they also play host to ice hockey games. There’s nothing stopping you from playing a quick hockey match with a stick and puck! Tip: In the evening, the artificial ice rink in Langenwang and the ice skating rink in Spital am Semmering are aglow thanks to atmospheric lighting! On your blades, ready, go!
Bavarian-style curling is a popular and exciting winter activity that also has a long tradition in Styria. In the Semmering-Waldheimat-Veitsch region, you will find many curling clubs and natural skating rinks where you can practise curling. The ice rinks used in winter are also often used in summer as asphalt tracks for a tarmac version of the game. This sport is therefore popular year-round in the region. With your ‘daube and stock’, you’re sure to have plenty of fun, whether you’re aiming for distance, precision or just playing a few rounds of ice stock. Many regional inns have their own skating rinks! That means that sustenance is close by whenever you need an energy boost!
Tip: Organise your own round at one of our many ice rinks – fun guaranteed! Aim away!
